Nairobi, Kenya: Plans are underway to launch the Namibia Kenya Chamber of Commerce, to accelerate trade and investment between the two sister countries and attract international investments, founder Elvis Mboya has announced today.
The new Chamber’s objective is to be “a platform and bridge for investors and traders interested in exploring new opportunities in Kenya and Namibia – premier gateways to East African Community (EAC) and Southern African Development Community (SADC) markets”.
According Mboya, the new Chamber has been rebranded from the Namibia-Kenya Marketplace Global, founded in 2020 and currently hosting over 1,500 active traders, professionals and business students across it’s digital platforms.
Further, the annual Namibia-Kenya Trade and Investment, that was successfully hosted in Nairobi and Windhoek last year, will now run under the Chamber’s umbrella, as part of the Chamber’s tools to accelerate and strengthen trade and Investment.
“Initially, we planned to host the Namibia-Kenya Trade and Investment Expo in Nairobi this June but we regret to postponed it to October, this will allow us to plan well to host both the Chamber’s launch and the Expo at the same time,” said Mboya, a Kenyan former Nation Media Group Business Daily Correspondent turned entrepreneur, who served as a reporter in Namibia and SADC for a decade.
